Pirate Party Ideas

I had so much fun creating a pirate themed party for my son.  I would like to share with you a couple ideas on what to do:

1-Set your date and prepare invites
Tips- Use pirate wording ,  write or print your invitation  on "old" looking paper to give it the look.

*if you print them put a light watermark as background of a treasure map (see below)

* if you write them out add some kind of treasure map detail on it, be creative

Then you can choose to crumble your paper, (I chose not to, the watermark and type of paper was enough)
Finally lightly burn the edges of your invite to make it all come together..(Be careful, a lighter is the best way to do it)

This is the Finished product !

Now To hand them out:

Tips- you can roll it up put a ribbon and hand them out or just put them in envelopes  .. but if you want to go the extra mile,  roll up your invite and tie with ribbon  and buy or make miniature treasure chest. They sell then made all ready in your local craft store they are made out of wood or paper mashe or you can choose to make them.. out of Popsicle sticks :) this is  little more work though..

For these you will need :
* Popsicle sticks
*foam
*glue/glue gun

use picture as a guide on how to create your box

Then you Paint it brown or any color of your choice, you need shinny (silver or gold) ribbon or glitter sheet foam to use on the out side, one Jewel to put in front. (this one was the first one I made) I went to the others and took care or any white spots I cut the glitter foam into strips and use one on each end (strips go all the way around serves as glue to connect lid and box) . one in the center.
*to open and close I added Velcro to the strip and the box , can also be found in craft stores

Because there is a lot of space inside the box  I went and bought some pirate "booty" to put inside,

Chocolate coins, artificial jewels, pirate mints, and necklace.

And that's it you are ready to give them out. How ever you choose to do them they will look great.

Centerpieces!

From them moment I decided on the theme on this party I knew I wanted ships and treasure chest to be centerpieces, I wanted a look that the paper center pieces didn't have , That's when I decided to look for DIY projects and make my own.

Step by step instructions coming soon!
