I was asked to do this cake for my son's T- ball, end of season Potluck.
During this time I had very little experience icing cakes. I decided to use the Betty Crocker shelf icing, vanilla flavor. In my head I had it all figured out, take two little tubs of icing add green food color and pipe away. How hard can it be? Right?
Well, not as easy as I had told my self with no experience I was up until 2am a day before the potluck trying to cover this cake using what I call the "the grass tip"(others may know as tip #233).
Yes!
I ran out of icing and at 2 am my husband was on his way on an unwanted trip to the store.
I learned that after using the "grass tip " for so long your hand hurts and you feel this uncomfortable pain.
Hard work pays off though The Team was very happy with the cake and that made everything worth it!
Inspired by LA Dodgers baseball field :)
